Twitter apps getting a new ‘Mute’ feature

Ever wondered how you can silence some tweets from the ones you follow without actually unfollowing them? Well, Twitter has an answer for you with the addition of a new ‘Mute’ button. The feature is pretty simple as all you have to do is head over to the desired profile from the web or mobile app of Twitter and choose the Mute option from the Settings.

This also means that retweets made by the users will be hidden from your timeline. On the flip side, the other user will be able to reply to you and even retweet your tweets. This will most likely make its way to the app with an update from the Play Store. But if you don’t see the update yet, heading over to the Play Store and checking for an update might help. It is a very nifty addition which will help you un-clutter the timeline from needless posts or retweets, without facing the social consequences of unfollowing the user.
