Sprint Galaxy Note 2 now getting the Android 4.4 update

Galaxy Note 2

Customers of the Galaxy Note 2 on Sprint will be pleased to know that the carrier is now rolling out the Android 4.4 update for the handset. The update was made official a few weeks ago and has arrived right on time.

The update changes the software version to L900VPUBNE2 and while the changelog isn’t particularly exciting, this is a welcome update. Sprint is rolling out the update in batches, so it might not reach all devices instantly. But if you’re one of the lucky customers to have received the update already, make sure you let us know by dropping a line below.

Given the delay this update has seen, it would be safe to assume that this is perhaps the last major Android update the smartphone will ever receive. Samsung recently spilled bad news for customers of the global Galaxy S3 mentioning that the Android 4.4 update will not be rolled out to them, but the Galaxy Note II is one of the lucky 2012 devices to get it.
