Sony Japan has just launched two new Bluetooth speakers with NFC called the SRS-X1 and the SRS-X2. Both speakers are designed to be easily paired with an Android device and can be used to play music indoors or outdoors.
The Sony SRS-X1 comes in white, black, pink and violet colors and has an IPX7 rating making it water resistant. It is best used for listening to music in the bathroom, kitchen, or at a swimming pool. This model has a spherical shape and has an output of 5 watts. Its battery life is expected to provide up to 12 hours of continuous music playback. Its dimensions are dimensions are 78mm × 80.5mm × 78mm and weighs 185 grams. This speaker will become available in Japan this coming June and will sell for 8,500 Yen + tax which is around $85.
The Sony SRS-X2 is the larger of both models having an output of 20W (10W + 10W). It doesn’t have a waterproof feature though so it is not designed to be used in areas that can get wet. This speaker has a Clear Audio+ feature which allows music to be played loud. It comes with a rated 5 hours of continuous music playback on a single charge which is less than half of what the SRS-X1 can provide. Its dimensions are 171mm × 60.5mm × 56.5mm and it has a weight of 500 grams. This speaker will become available in Japan this coming June and will sell for 9,500 Yen + tax which is around $95.
