The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime is expected to break cover next month with a bumped up hardware specs sheet which includes a 2K resolution display and a metal exterior. It is now being said that the smartphone could cost nearly 900,000 Korean Won or $880 when it is launched. The pricing is mentioned in Korean currency because the smartphone is reportedly going to be an exclusive to the region, at least for the first few weeks.
The price tag doesn’t come as a surprise given the hardware on offer. But it will be interesting to see how LG will price the G3 when it breaks cover later this month. The comparisons between the two devices are expected given that they’re expected to feature 2K displays.
Apart from these changes, we don’t expect the Galaxy S5 Prime to be a whole lot different from the standard Galaxy S5. So expect to see the water/dust resistance, the 16-megapixel camera on the back and Android 4.4 KitKat among other things.
