LG reportedly launching the Lifeband Touch and Heart Rate Earphones on May 18 in the U.S.

LG Lifeband Touch

According to a new press statement issued by LG, the company will launch the Lifeband Touch wearable and the Heart Rate Earphones on the 18th of May in the United States. The company hasn’t given away pricing details as of yet, but these companion accessories aren’t expected to go easy on the customers’ wallets.

While the Lifeband Touch is a conventional fitness tracker, the Heart Rate Earphones are pretty unique. They look pretty odd from the outside and measure the heart rate from the outer part of the ear and send the data to the Bluetooth device, which LG calls the “medallion”.

These earphones will come with a 200 mAh battery which should last a day with moderate use, although LG hasn’t mentioned the battery life in its press release. These two devices should be compatible with any Android and iOS device out there thanks to the cross platform LG Fitness app. Third party offerings like MyFitnessPal, Runkeeper and MapMyFitness are also said to be compatible with the two devices.
