It looks like Huawei will soon be releasing a high end version of its Honor 3X smartphone which is reportedly going to be called the Huawei Honor 3X Pro. The upcoming device bears an uncanny resemblance to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and even has faux leather back complete with fake stitching on the edges.
Images of the Huawei Honor 3X Pro recently leaked at the Chinese version of Twitter called Weibo. While it is common for Chinese manufacturers to copy popular devices it is very rare that a well-known brand is also doing the same.
In terms of specifications, this device will be using a 5.5-inch display that has a 1080p Full HD resolution. It’s going to feature a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek processor (MT6592) with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There’s a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. It is still not known what version of Android the device will be using.
The Huawei Honor 3X Pro is going to cost 1,699 yuan or around $272 when it is released. This is the same price that the Honor 3X had when it was released last year.
Huawei’s market share in China is under threat as several upstart companies such as Xiaomi have been releasing affordable smartphones that constantly gets sold out. To meet this new challenge the company has released the Honor line of devices which basically is its response to Xiaomi devices.
