HTC One Mini 2 could miss features like Zoe and Motion Launch

One of the most popular features from the HTC One M8 is Motion Launch which allows users to double tap the display to turn it on. In addition to allowing users to turn on the display, this feature also allows them to open certain apps with a gesture on the display. And now, a new revelation by Evleaks claims that the upcoming HTC One Mini 2 handset will not pack this feature along with a few others that we saw on the HTC flagship in late March.

Evleaks said in a tweet – “Sense 6 on M8 mini lacks a few features: besides no Duo cam, it loses Zoe, Fitbit, Motion Launch, and Pan 360 photos.” It’s understandable that something like the Pan 360 photos won’t be compatible as it probably requires a superior camera sensor to work. But we’re a bit baffled with the exclusion of Motion Launch which is one of the key features from the HTC One M8.

It will be interesting to see whether this will impact the sales of the smartphone when it breaks cover in the coming weeks. In addition to not sporting the aforementioned features, the One Mini 2 is expected to pack a substantially downgraded hardware specs sheet in comparison to the One M8. It is rumored to come with a 4.5 inch 720p display, a 13-megapixel camera, a 1.4 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 SoC, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
