The Samsung Galaxy S5 is just a month old since it was launched globally and we’re hearing rumors about a possible premium variant of the handset breaking cover soon. This device, which is also known as the Galaxy S5 Prime has now made an appearance on an online listing at a Hong Kong based retailer’s website.
The listing reveals the smartphone featuring a 2K resolution display, a Snapdragon 805 chipset, 3GB of RAM and LTE-A connectivity, which sounds too good to be true. The product listing also shows the Android version to be Android 4.4.3 which is on the horizon, but yet to be made official by Google.
The rest of the specs sheet appears to be unchanged from the Galaxy S5. So could this be a placeholder for a future launch? It’s hard to tell for sure, but it certainly has a substantially upgraded specs sheet, which raises some suspicion in our minds.
The pricing of this smartphone is listed as HKD 5,070 ($654), which is certainly not a lot for a smartphone of this caliber. So what are your thoughts on this particular leak?
