But it now seems like the manufacturers are ready and geared up to bring hardware to the masses with the ZTE Open C launching via eBay across Europe as well as the U.S. This smartphone runs Firefox OS 1.3 and features a ton of software improvements from previous iterations of Firefox OS.

On the hardware side, the ZTE Open C packs a 4 inch WVGA display, a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 4GB of internal storage, 512MB of RAM, a 1,400 mAh battery, a 3-megapixel camera on the back and support for dual SIM standby.

The handset can be snatched up for $99.99 off contract and unlocked via eBay in the U.S. and a handful of countries including the UK, Germany and a bunch of other European countries.
