Android 4.4 KitKat suffering from a widgets bug?

HD Widgets

According to makers of HD Widgets, Android 4.4.2 is suffering from a widgets related issue. This bug reportedly makes your widget disappear on its own, which can be quite an annoyance if you’re using it often. HD Widgets claims that this bug is seen on most paid widgets offered by them especially after a Play Store update. It is said that top end HTC and Samsung devices are the most affected by this bug, so it might not apply to all KitKat devices.

A quick fix for this bug is to get Nova Launcher and disable automatic updating of apps. We’re yet to hear from Google about this, but if the issue is widespread we don’t think they can afford to be silent for too long.

As of now, the issue has been reportedly seen on a Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the HTC One although the exact model wasn’t specified. It’s clear that the issue is existent and it will be up to Google to resolve it at the earliest. Maybe a fix is forthcoming with the Android 4.4.3 update.
