Verizon's HTC One max is now receiving Android 4.4.2 KitKat update

An HTC official said last week that the Verizon HTC One max would be receiving its Android 4.4.2 update on Monday afternoon, and it looks like the time frame given was spot on, as the update has indeed started rolling out to users over the last few hours. The update bumps the Verizon-branded One max up to software version 2.16.605.2.

The update should fix quite a few issues, including those related to device management running during OTA downloads, Bluetooth not connecting to the BMW X5, non-functioning copy icon in the top right of the screen, and an issue that made the Verizon app not direct SMS messages properly. A few Verizon apps have been updated/added, and the usual KitKat goodies are present as well, including faster performance, advanced location control, white status bar icons, and more.

As usual, the update will be making its way to everyone over the next few days, though you can force it to download right away by heading into the Settings » About phone » Software update menu. The source link has all the details on what’s new, what’s fixed, and other useful stuff.
