It is customary for manufacturers to provide plenty of freebies with smartphones to lure potential buyers into picking their offering. Most manufacturers of late have been doing this by offering free cloud storage either from Dropbox or Google Drive. And now, it seems like customers of the AT&T HTC One (M8) will have to wait until May to redeem their free cloud storage quota.
Every unit of the HTC One (M8) sold comes bundled with 50GB of free Google Drive storage. But AT&T customers are now being told that a technical issue is not allowing users to access their allotted data and that this will be fixed by mid-May.
HTC hasn’t specified what this technical error exactly is, but users won’t be able to access their free Drive storage on the AT&T One M8 temporarily. Interestingly, this error is only pertaining to the AT&T model of the smartphone as other models are able to access the free storage just fine. So perhaps there needs to be some work done from the carrier as well.
