Sony promises a fix for the Android 4.4 audio bug on Xperia devices

Android 4.4 - Sony Xperia Z1

Some users of the Sony Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact and the Xperia Z Ultra started seeing audio issues after the rollout of Android 4.4 KitKat. Sony has now promised to fix this issue with the help of an update in the future. The manufacturer will reportedly start the rollout of this bug fixing patch from next week.

The bug basically switched the notification sounds to the internal speaker, rather than the main speaker on the outside, thus making it hard for users to know when a notification has arrived. This is a pretty serious issue and it’s good to see that Sony has vowed to fix it.

Although Sony promises to send the fix next week, its actual rollout date could differ depending on the region and carriers. But in any case, the update should arrive within the next couple of weeks.
