A new leak has shed light on the hardware specifications of Samsung’s 10.5 inch AMOLED tablet known as the SM-T800. This could be Samsung’s first AMOLED tablet of the year with many more expected to follow subsequently.
This leak claims that apart from the 2560 x 1600 resolution display, the T800 will also feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16/32/64GB of storage with a microSD card slot, an 8-megapixel camera on the back with a 2-megapixel front camera and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with all the latest TouchWiz features.
The tablet is also expected to sport a 7,900 mAh battery and USB 2.0 support. There’s no information on pricing or availability as of yet, but the device is expected to launch in global markets with the standard Exynos 5 Octa chipset while LTE markets will probably get the Snapdragon 801 model.
The company hasn’t had an AMOLED tablet for over 2 years now, but it’s good to know that we might soon get to see this tablet in the markets. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 was the first AMOLED tablet launched by the company, but it didn’t manage to do well in the markets thanks to the dominance of the Apple iPads and the mediocrity of Google’s Honeycomb OS. But things are vastly different now, so expect these new gen AMOLED tablets to make plenty of noise in the markets.
