Thanks to the Snapdragon 801 chipset and the powerful 13-megapixel camera used on the OnePlus One smartphone, it is capable of recording videos in 4K resolution. This is a feat which very few devices in the market can brag of other than the Sony Xperia Z2.
And now, we have managed to access a 4K video sample taken using the smartphone’s camera to give us a better idea of its performance. Another post on the OnePlus One forums has shown off some images taken from the smartphone in comparison to a DSLR camera and the Oppo Find 5 handset.
The 4K video sample is just as we had imagined, crisp and detailed. It shows a stream of water flowing through and there isn’t a lot happening in the video apart from that, but it’s clear that OnePlus has paid close attention to the performance of the f/2.0 sensor on the upcoming flagship.
It’s surprising to see that a smartphone which is expected to cost under $400 can do so much. Going by this, we can imagine the kind of demand the handset would see at the time of launch.
