U.S. Cellular Galaxy S5 up for pre-order tomorrow as well, comes with a $50 Play Store credit

Galaxy S5

Following AT&T’s announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S5 on pre-order, America’s fifth largest carrier U.S. Cellular has followed suit with its variant up for pre-order starting tomorrow as well. However, customers getting a device via U.S. Cellular will have the added bonus of getting a free $50 Google Play Store credit to spend on apps and other content.

Pricing will be the same at $199.99 with a two year contract, which is what all carrier variants will sell for, so no surprises there. But unlike AT&T, U.S. Cellular doesn’t offer monthly installment schemes, so you’re either going to sign a two year agreement or get the device off contract by paying the full price up front.

The carrier will offer an early preview of the smartphone for interested customers in its stores at Cedar Rapids, Iowa as well as Madison, Milwaukee and Glendale in Wisconsin. Customers can head over to a nearby U.S. Cellular outlet starting from the 24th of March to play around with the Galaxy S5 and get a better idea of its functioning. Official availability is slated to commence on the 11th of April which is when all the other carriers and the world markets are getting it as well.

U.S. Cellular will sell the Gear 2 smartwatch for $299 along with the Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit for $199.

  1. Its available for $0 with T Mobile I guess, monthly installment scheme for two years, if I’m not wrong.

  2. Oh, T Mobile is giving away the phone for free and US Cellular is giving $50 of Store credit along with the phone. There is something fishy about the Galaxy S5 sales and promotions.

  3. Fifty dollars to spend in the Google Play store is a tempting offer! If we had U.S. Cellular around here, I would seriously consider switching to them.
