TouchWiz apps from the Samsung Galaxy S5 now available for download

Galaxy S5 Apps

Samsung Galaxy S5 is still a month away from launch, but thanks to the ever active developer community, users can experience some of the features from the handset ahead of time. Some core apps of the upcoming flagship are now available for download on older Samsung devices like the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3. So basically any Samsung device running Android 4.4.2.

Some of these apps will replace the existing version of the apps on your Samsung device, so it is imperative that users uninstall the older version before sideloading these new apks. Uninstalling core Samsung apps isn’t possible without some rooting know-how, so make sure you keep that in mind.

The S Health app is unfortunately not working at the moment, so we’ve excluded that from the list. Other apps like the Gear Fit Manager are unusable now since it requires actual hardware to function. The rest of the apps are reportedly working fine, so you can go ahead and try them. However, side loading uncertified apk files can have its flaws, so proceed with caution.

You can download these apps on your Android 4.4.2 running Samsung smartphone now.

  1. Who would want these apps? People root their Samsung devices to get rid of these apps. There is a reason why they call it “Bloatwares”.

  2. How many people really want these apps? The only one that really proves useful is S Health, but even with that, MyFitnessPal is much better. The Remote app might be useful, but again, it appeals to a small niche. Can Samsung, just once, make a useful app that isn’t going to bog down my smartphone?
