Samsung’s upcoming AMOLED tablet could feature an 8.4 inch display

Samsung SM-T700

GFXBench has revealed the existence of a new Samsung tablet sporting an 8.4 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. This tablet is revealed to have the model number SM-T700. We recently came across an AMOLED tablet sporting the same resolution, so this could well be the same.

The leak also reveals the tablet’s 1.9 GHz octa core chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 7 megapixel camera and Android 4.4 KitKat. Launch related details aren’t available yet as this is a leak, but considering the increase in leaks each day, we don’t think it’s far away.

The company was expected to launch plenty of tablets this year including multiple AMOLED based devices, so this could be the first of many to come. It will be interesting to see where this new tablet will fit in among the plethora of tablets already sold by Samsung. Perhaps this would kick off a new series of tablets from the Korean manufacturer.

What’s your take on a Samsung made AMOLED tablet? Will you line up to get one?

  1. Why is Samsung not upgrading the screensize to 8.9? I think it’s a lot better if it’s a few mm bigger.
The octa core is great news though. How fast can this go then? My PC only sports a quad core at this time.

  2. Is this the same tablet that we have been talking about the whole week? Or is this a different tablet? If so, tell me that the company will now not start releasing hundred tablets like what it is doing with the smartphones.
