Samsung’s Galaxy S5 now up for pre-order in the UK

Samsung’s latest flagship is now available for pre-ordering in the UK, right on the scheduled date that was announced a couple of days ago. Major retailers Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4u and Amazon are now taking pre-orders, and so are carriers Vodafone, EE, O2 and Three, with the SIM-free price starting from as low as £559.99.

You’ll be able to grab the phone in all four colors (blue, black, white, and gold) from all of them except EE and Three, though the blue and gold models won’t be available before April 11, the day the phone makes its global debut. EE and Phones 4u are also offering free goodies with the device if you opt for their 4G plans – EE will be giving away free return flights from airports across the UK, while Phones 4u will throw in a free Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 and £50 of Google Play credit with the first 1,000 pre-orders. Orders should start shipping by April 11, though Amazon UK will be launching the device a week later on April 18th.

The Galaxy S5 sports a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display, a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16-megapixel rear shooter with ISOCELL sensor technology and fast autofocus, 16GB of internal storage that’s expandable via a microSD slot, and a 2,800 mAh battery. The phone also has an IP67 certification for water-resistance, has an inbuilt fingerprint scanner and heart rate sensor, and runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with features like Ultra Power Saving Mode, Download Booster, and more.
