Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 OTA update now hitting parts of Europe and Asia

Samsung Galaxy S4

The Android 4.4 update for the Samsung Galaxy S4 is now making its way to more regions of the world, with focus on Asian and European countries. The smartphone has been receiving the update all over the world since last month, so it was only a matter of time before it was rolled out elsewhere. The update weighs in somewhere between 350 and 400MB depending on your region, so make sure your device is connected to an unlimited Wi-Fi network before downloading the update.

The update is not incremental as it changes a lot of core Android functions compared to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with the change in the color of the status bar icons and the inclusion of several other Samsung specific features. It was reported earlier today that this update is getting rid of the native code which gave exaggerated benchmark scores.
