Sony Xperia Z to get Android 4.4 KitKat by March, says Polish carrier

The Sony Xperia Z completed an year of existence on the market last month, and its users got an early present by receiving the Android 4.3 update way back in December last year. Now, it seems like Sony is once again preparing some goodies for Xperia Z owners – according to Play, one of Poland’s largest carriers, the Xperia Z should begin receiving the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update sometime between late February and March.

Naturally, if the update arrives in Poland in the aforementioned time frame, it shouldn’t be long before it makes its way to other regions as well. But, as always, carrier estimates of update rollouts have a tendency to miss the promised schedule, so if you’re an Xperia Z owner, it would be a good idea not to get excited just yet, if only because Sony will most likely focus on newer devices like the Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra first. However, it’s pretty much certain that the Xperia Z is getting KitKat at some point, but again, whether the February – March time frame holds true remains to be seen.
