Sony is expected to launch the Xperia Sirius D6503 flagship during the MWC event later this month. We now have a possible announcement date to go with as the company has scheduled a press event on the 24th of February. This should, in all likelihood, see the release of the company’s new flagship which has made its way to the rumor mill on several occasions.
Sony hasn’t given away details on what to expect from the event, so we might be in for a bit of a surprise. The event has been scheduled for 8:30AM local time (CET), so it will be the first manufacturer to launch a smartphone at the MWC. We’re not sure how impressive the Xperia Sirius (Z2) will be, but leaks have revealed that Sony has given much emphasis to the camera of the smartphone.
With Samsung expected to announce the Galaxy S5 on the same day, we think it will be quite interesting to see what the Japanese manufacturer has to offer. The Xperia Sirius is rumored to pack a 5.2 inch 1080p display, a 20.7MP camera with 4K video recording, 2GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 800 SoC and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sony’s custom UI layering on top.
