Samsung launches the fitness oriented Gear Fit smartwatch

Galaxy Gear Fit

Samsung has just taken the wraps off the Galaxy S5 smartphone just a while ago in Barcelona following weeks of hype and speculation. However, Samsung also announced a new fitness accessory along with the Gear 2 smartwatch, called the Gear 2 Fit. As the name rightly suggests, the Gear 2 Fit is a fitness oriented accessory which lets you keep track of your fitness, steps taken during the day, sleep patterns and even your heart beat informing you to slow down whenever you’re pushing yourself to the limits too much or not working out hard enough. The accessory will be available alongside the Galaxy S5 when it hits global markets in April. Users will get to choose between Orange, Mocha Grey and Black color variants. These straps are user replaceable.

The Gear Fit is also capable of performing conventional smartwatch duties like reading text messages, notifying you of emails, calls etc. The smartwatch features a 1.64 inch  flexible Super AMOLED display, which is the first in the industry. The Gear Fit has a battery life of 3-4 days with its 210 mAh battery. The fact that it’s water and dust resistant is just the icing on the cake. However, much like the Gear 2, the Gear Fit is only compatible with “over 20 Galaxy devices” with no support for non-Galaxy smartphones. Besides this one downside of the smartwatch, the Gear Fit is an excellent smartwatch and fitness accessory which will make sure you remain fit.
