Samsung’s upcoming tablet is scheduled to be released in the U.S. market this coming February 13 but as early as now those interested to get the device can pre-order it. Office Depot is now taking in pre-orders for the 64GB Wi-Fi version of the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 at $849.99. It’s definitely quite expensive considering that the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) costs nearly $400 less.
Why does this device have a high price? Considering that it comes with premium hardware specifications I’d say that it is a reasonable price to pay. Let’s take a quick look at what makes the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro tick.

The Galaxy Note Pro also comes with the S Pen found in previous Note devices. Since it is quite a large deivce it’s not exactly portable and will most likely be used in office presentations or as a coffee table device.
The first thing you will notice is its large display which has an outstanding 2560×1600 pixel resolution. Gone is the usual Android/TouchWiz interface which has been replaced with a new UI called Magazine UX. There are three customizable screen panels; one for your office, one for home/personal use, and lastly for social networks and media.
The Multi-Window feature is also present in this device which has now been enhanced. Instead of just two windows handling multiple tasks you can now have up to four windows present.
One feature that Samsung is promoting is the Remote PC functionality of this device. Basically it is an easy way to remotely find and transfer files from your PC to your tablet without the need for cables.
In other related news, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro is also up for pre-order at $650. It has similar specs to the Galaxy Note Pro however does not include the S Pen. For those who don’t mind using the tablet the traditional way (with fingers) then you can save $200 on this model.
