A new message was sent to us via The Droid Guy Mailbag which reads, “Hi, I have been using the Galaxy Note Smartphones since they launched Note 1. I am currently using Samsung Galaxy Note 3. For quite some time, I have been able to download the video clips posted in FB using Video Downloader and recently with FVD. However since this morning (19 Feb 2014), whenever I click on any video clip on the FB, there appears to be no choice whether I want to use FVD or Video player. The vid opened up straightaway and I could not save it. I have checked my default settings and there is nothing set for video files. Can you please advise? Thanks and best regards.”
Why You Can’t Use Apps to Save FB Videos
Most videos posted in FB come from YouTube. According to a forum in Android Central, a recent YouTube update has been causing the video saving problems of some apps like the sender mentioned. So, one way to fix this is by uninstalling the YouTube update.
This can be done by going to Settings. Then, go to Application Settings. From there, look for the YouTube app and uninstall the update.
Best Way to Download FB Videos in Galaxy Note 3
The Scrapbook of Galaxy Note 3 actually lets you save videos without the need to download third-party apps. So, why not just use this?
It is very easy to save FB videos in your Galaxy Note 3. While you are watching the video, all you have to do is tap the Share icon located at the upper right corner of your screen.
It is symbol which has three dots connected by a line that looks like the mathematical sign “<” (see the image below). After that all you have to is create or select a category for your video and it will be saved in your phone.
To play the video, all you have to do is open it through your Galaxy Note 3 Scrapbook.
