LG Optimus G Pro to get Android 4.4 KitKat by end of Q2 2014?

LG Optimus G Pro to get Android 4.4 KitKat by end of Q2 2014?

Owners of the LG Optimus G Pro might get to start enjoying Android 4.4 KitKat by the end of June, if a schedule estimate mentioned by LG India turns out to be accurate. LG India broke the news to an inquiring user on Twitter though direct message – however, it’s possible the image up top showing off the statement could be a fake, but as the Optimus G Pro is still stuck on Android 4.1.2, and the chances of getting a jump to a version of the OS three steps higher could be pretty slim.

LG has traditionally been the worst of all major Android manufacturers when it comes to software updates, and while the company is promising to change, having said that devices like the LG G2 would be updated to KitKat early this year, it’s best to take the details on the Optimus G Pro’s update with a pinch of salt. The G Pro 2 will be out in markets in the next couple of months, and that might just give the Korean manufacturer the chance to start ignoring the G Pro 2’s predecessor, in an attempt to drive more sales towards the newer device.
