LG G2 Mini to Roll Out Globally in March

Less than 24 hours after LG quietly announced the 4.7 inch LG G2 Mini smartphone, more details are emerging on the device and a possible timeline on when the phone will be on the retail shelves.  Despite the official unveiling of the device, LG did not particularly make all the details of the device available but we now have a clearer image of what the device is but it is up to you to determine whether it is good enough for you.  The LG G2 Mini is a miniature copy of the LG G2 both in specs and name, and will supposedly be available for sale as soon as next month.

The LG G2 Mini must have been designed by LG to target Android users who cannot afford or find that their LG G2 flagship smartphone is too large.  The device comes with a quite impressive quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor or a 1.7 GHz Nvidia tegra 4i processor for customers in Latin America, 1 GB of RAM and a 4.7 inch IPS LCD display with a not-so-impressive 960 x 540 pixels screen resolution.

The interesting bit of news is that the Latin-America bound version of the LG G2 Mini has better specs than the global version, with a better processor and even a better 13 megapixels camera, which, in my opinion, does not really match the processing and RAM capabilities of the device itself.  The Global version of the LG G2 Mini will feature an 8 megapixels primary camera while the variant that will head to Latin America will have a 13 m3gapixels sensor.  Confusing right?

More reports that there is a dual-SIM version of the LG G2 Mini heading to Europe could not be confirmed by the source but word is that the Europe-bound LG G2 Mini has all the specifications of the global variant with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and support for dual SIM.  This doesn’t seem right though because customers in the emerging markets i.e. Asia and Africa would be the best target for a low-cost dual-SIM LG G2 Mini.

If you are an ardent LG fan and are awaiting to get the LG G2, just know that the South Korean based manufacturer hasn’t really made all the details about availability and specs of the device heading to your market, but at least you have a rough idea on what to expect.  It is likely that more market-specific information about the miniature version of LG’s flagship smartphone will be availed during the MWC to start on Monday in Barcelona or not so long after it.
