We already know that HTC is planning to launch the much rumored HTC M8 is scheduled to be released in late march in New York, but this hasn’t stopped leaksters from getting more information – a lot more – concerning this high end 4.5 inch Android smartphone. Over the past couple of weeks, more and more images have been surfacing, the leakers claiming to be those of the HTC M8. Some of these photos didn’t pass the test as genuine but new images that surfaced today could be the most revealing and genuine we have seen yet.
While previous images gave us a closer look at some specs and features including the twin cameras at the back and on-screen navigation controls, the new images don’t really reveal much besides the design and immaculate finishing of the device build.
According to the folks at Android Authority, Shen Ye, a UK based ROM developer who also produces the XDA-Developers TV show, has a good reputation in the HTC community and has in the past accurately predicted HTC devices. Shen Ye confirmed the genuineness of some great shots of HTC M8 that were doing rounds on the internet after being originally shared on Google Plus.
The latest two images of HTC M8 reveal the dark grey or gun metal finish color with a dual-tone flash and two cameras at the back of the device. The dual-tone flash is almost guaranteed to be one of the best features of the HTC M8 but until we get to know the details, how it works and what its benefits are, we cannot really talk about it. What’s more, the new shots also confirm earlier renders that placed the second rear camera of the HTC M8 right next to the primary camera.
The new renders and images also show that the HTC M8 will have a mid-sized bezel, especially right below the screen, with the HTC logo placed conveniently above the front-facing speakers. This is not a new design feature though, leaked images of the upcoming HTC Desire has almost the exact same front design. If you didn’t know, HTC Desire is a mid-range budget Android device that is expected to make an appearance at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) to kick off on Monday 24th in Barcelona.
The newest render of the HTC M8 by the Russian HTC Family website is the closest and clearest image of the HTC M8 we have according to Shen Ye. Combined with the fact that he had mentioned in the past that the M8 would be available in four color options – Dark grey, Red, Blue and Silver – if you are looking forward to this smartphone you should know how it should look like at its best.
We’ll keep predicting and speculating till we have the HTC M8 in our hands, then we can review it for you. Till then, keep it here for the latest rumors and news on all Android devices.
