ZTE launches Android powered projector which doubles as a 4G LTE hotspot

ZTE Projector HotspotZTE has had a busy couple of days with the announcements of a few devices at the CES. Yesterday we saw the Grand S II being unveiled during the CES event and today it’s a slightly different device. The Chinese manufacturer has now announced the Android based 1080p projector known as the Projector Hotspot. The reasoning behind this name stems from the fact that this device can also act as a 4G LTE mobile hotspot along with the aforementioned projection capabilities. ZTE claims that over 8 users/devices can be connected to the hotspot at one time. The device also has a 4 inch WVGA display with a customized version of Android 4.2 running on board.

The projector on the device is capable of projecting up to 100 lumens of brightness with a 1000:1 contrast ratio. It can display content as big as 120 inches, which makes it ideal for a large set of people watching a slide or presentation together. The projector also comes with HDMI-in so you can connect your notebook or mobile device with ease. American carriers are expected to launch the Projector Hotspot in the U.S. later this year with no formal word on pricing or precise availability date as of now.
