The Viber app for Android has just been updated to version 4.2 with some useful additions. The popular VoIP application is used by millions of users across the world as a popular alternative to Whatsapp, Line, WeChat and several other IM clients. Viber has a large number of users in Asia and Europe who use it as a modern alternative to Skype which has lost its sheen with the emergence of newer and better VoIP services. Speaking more about the new update, version 4.2 of Viber introduces several new changes. You can go through the complete changelog below:

  • Block any number or contact
  • Send up to 10 photos at the same time
  • Message or call using Viber directly from your native contact list
  • Customize your message and call sounds
  • New media gallery (photo and video) within conversations
  • Improvements and fixes

The ability to block certain people and numbers is a very good addition and will certainly benefit users. While Viber has not been that great of an IM client, it is certainly one of the best in terms of usability. You can head over to the Play Store and download the updated version of the app or wait for a notification to pop up soon.
