Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 on Verizon getting an update soon

Galaxy Note 10.1

The first gen Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, which broke cover through Verizon in the U.S. is seemingly getting an update soon. Unfortunately for the users of this tablet, the update won’t change anything apart from a couple of Samsung specific apps like Samsung WatchOn and S Educate which will now act as default applications, which means the users can’t remove them if they wanted to. The software version will change to JZ054K.I925VRAMK1 post the update, which is inconsequential really, but make sure you notice the change.

The first gen Galaxy Tab 10.1 didn’t see a lot of takers for a variety of reasons. Unlike the 2014 Edition Galaxy Note 10.1, the tablet wasn’t a hardware powerhouse and lacked the power of the Galaxy Note II, which was Samsung’s Galaxy Note flagship at the time. But thanks to frequent software updates, Samsung has made sure that the tablet isn’t a dud and is still functional a little over an year after its official launch. Samsung is taking the tablet segment more seriously now with the launch of the Galaxy NotePRO and the Galaxy TabPRO tablets recently.
