Samsung and Google could launch the new Nexus 10 tablet next week: Rumor

Nexus 10Google announced refreshed versions of all Nexus devices in 2013, but for some reason left the Nexus 10 tablet. Some believed that Google had dropped the idea of a flagship Nexus tablet and was content with the sales of the Nexus 7. However, a new rumor now claims that we might get to see a Samsung made Nexus 10 successor at the CES event next week. Google is usually known to host its own events for device announcements, much like Samsung, but the rumor suggests otherwise.

The report comes from Digitimes which has a good track record with leaks in the past, so we might actually get to see the new Nexus 10 next week. Unfortunately, there’s no word on what the tablet will feature in terms of hardware but we’re guessing Google will have much of the say this time unlike the original Nexus 10 which featured Samsung specific hardware. Going by that, it’s safe to assume that we’ll get to see a 10.1 inch 2560×1600 resolution display (possibly AMOLED), a Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2 or 3GB of RAM, 32/64GB of storage, Android 4.4 KitKat and a sufficiently sized battery. We expect to learn more about the tablet as we head into next week, but since this is a rumor, we suggest you to take this report with a pinch of salt until there’s more confirmation coming through.
