Recap 2 Allows Recording Of Calls From iOS, Android Device

Have you been in a situation where you wanted to record a call from your mobile device but just couldn’t figure out how to do it? A Kickstarter funded project aims to make this easier for you. Recap 2 lets you record audio from mobile and tablet into another.

Recap 2 is simple to use, just plug it in the 3.5mm jack of your device and click record when you place a call. This lets you record phone calls, or any audio in and out of your device, to another device.

Some of the popular uses of this device are

  • Business meetings: Now you won’t get distracted taking notes during a meeting. Playback recording to creating meeting minutes. Share recording with participants or archive for future reference.
  • Podcasters can interview guests over a phone or skype call on their iPhone, and record into the iPad in an app such as Bossjock Studio.

The idea behind Recap 2 came from the original Recap which recorded calls on the PC. It is a popular device with lots of people asking if it worked on mobile devices too. Unfortunately the original Recap was only limited for PC use. This is why Recap 2 was designed.

Developer Igor Ramos said that “From day one of launching RECAP 1, people asked me “can I record into an iOS device instead of a PC”. The answer was NO, RECAP is not designed to record INTO iOS/Android. However I did listen to the many requests and have redesigned RECAP and am now funding RECAP 2! Hooray!”

The Kickstarter goal of $5,000 has already been met with 156 backers making a total pledge of $8,495. Those who pledged at least $50 will be getting an early bird Recap 2 device which is expected to ship out by April 2014.
