Cyanogen’s first phone, the Oppo N1, was just released a few weeks ago. However, Cyanogen Inc has since been teasing that they have a second partner. Now today, on the OnePlus forums, the company announced that they are Cyanogen Inc’s official partner.
OnePlus says their flagship phone, the OnePlus One (that name sounds familiar), will run a custom version of CyanogenMod with special features and tweaks specifically for the device. The post doesn’t go into detail on what those features are, but as with the Oppo N1, it will probably have the official Google apps included.
No price has been announced yet either, but OnePlus says they are aiming for the OnePlus One to be released in the first half of 2014. This timing gives them a lot of time to work on the phone, since it’s from now until June. But we’ll all be eager to see the OnePlus One when it’s released later this year.
