The Nokia Normandy has been making constant appearances in the form of leaks over the past several weeks. However, there’s still no word on whether the smartphone will launch at all, given Microsoft’s relationship with Nokia and the shared hatred for the Android platform. But Nokia’s scheduled event for next month has substantiated claims of a Nokia Android phone launching soon. Although the event invitation doesn’t give out any details on what’s going to be on offer, it’s almost clear that the Normandy will be shown off at the event along with a few Asha series of handsets.
The event is scheduled for February 24 in Barcelona at 8:30 AM local time. Of course we’re only speculating here, but since Nokia doesn’t seem to have any major global Windows Phone handsets in the pipeline, we are inclined to believe that the Normandy will indeed be shown off next month. But take this with a grain of salt for the time being as nothing has been confirmed yet.
