Nexus 7 2013 arriving on Verizon soon, sans carrier branding

Verizon hasn’t been an easy target for Google’s latest Nexus 7 tablet, with the carrier deciding to hold off certifying the 7-inch slate for its 4G LTE network until it received the Android 4.4 KitKat update, apparently due to issues with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, which the tablet shipped with. Well, the KitKat update has been out since late November, and it looks like Verizon has finally done what’s necessary and could launch the Nexus 7 2013 in the coming weeks.

evleaks tweeted that the new Nexus 7 is “about to be added to the Verizon lineup,” without any Verizon branding whatsoever. evleaks didn’t specify a particular time frame, but when the industry’s most infamous speaks about a device’s arrival so confidently, you know it’s only a matter of time before the carrier (or manufacturer) makes things official. Considering the Nexus 7 has been compatible with Verizon’s LTE networks since launch, it would be rather evil to make consumers wait too much longer for what is arguably the best tablet launched last year.
