Rumors regarding LG’s next flagship have been making the rounds for quite some time now. It was first believed that the smartphone would be launched at the MWC event next month, but a new report from Korea suggests otherwise. According to this report, LG will launch the Optimus G Pro successor known as the LG G Pro 2 next month at the MWC while the LG G3 will be launched on May 17. Both these smartphones will reportedly feature a QHD 2K resolution display (2560 x 1440), which could well be a prerequisite for smartphones in 2014.
The report further claims that the LG G Pro 2 will feature a 5.9 inch display while the LG G3 will sport a 5.5 inch display panel, both venturing into the phablet segment. There’s no word on what else the tablet will pack, but it is clear that LG is going all guns blazing with these two handsets. The much rumored LG Odin chipset could be used on these devices as the Snapdragon 805 is still some distance away from making its way to smartphones. The first of the two devices will break cover in another month from now at the MWC, so we don’t have a lot of waiting to do.
