HTC One, One mini and One max to get KitKat in January-February

HTC One, One mini, and One max to get KitKat by January-February.

HTC’s unlocked One models in the U.S. are already running on Android 4.4 KitKat, but when will the chocolaty update arrive in other regions and on other HTC devices? Well, according to LlabTooFeR, a popular developer of custom ROMs for HTC devices with a rather accurate track record of leaks, the HTC One (both single and dual SIM models), One mini and One max will start receiving the KitKat update sometime in January or February.

HTC has been rather quick about software updates recently (though not anywhere close to Motorola), so it’s likely the expected time frame offered by LlabTooFeR will actually be met by the Taiwanese manufacturer. HTC has already confirmed that the One will be updated by the end of January, and if the company can manage to update the smaller and larger variants of its flagship soon after, it will certainly get them some goodwill that hopefully will translate into sales that can help the company turn its fortunes around.
