ASUS launched the FonePad 7 in September last year as something of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 competitor, with its 7-inch screen and ability to make calls. It was launched with Android 4.2 out of the box, and now the tablet is making the jump to Android 4.3. ASUS has begun rolling out the update over the air without any official announcement, and it should be making its way to users worldwide over the course of the next few days.
There’s no official changelog yet, but the update should be bringing over all the improvements and features of Android 4.3, including faster performance, background location scanning even when Wi-Fi is off, improved security, and general bug fixes and optimization. As usual, the update will roll out in batches and take a few days to reach everyone, but if you’re impatient, you can do a manual check through the Settings » About tablet menu.
