If you’re using the Galaxy S III on T-Mobile’s network, chances are you’re already rocking Android 4.3, unless you were one of the few that bought T-Mobile’s LTE-enabled Galaxy S III that was launched a few months after the original Galaxy S III. But even for those in the latter category, the wait is finally over – T-Mobile has announced that it has begun rolling out the Android 4.3 update to the Galaxy S III LTE (SGH-T999L), both over-the-air and via Samsung’s PC suite program Kies.
The update comes with build number T999LUVUBMK4, and will add support for Samsung’s Galaxy Gear, KNOX security suite, improve performance, add visual touches to the interface and make it quite similar to the Galaxy S4’s (including the horrible tabbed interface in the settings menu), new camera modes, widgets, and updated Samsung apps, a move-to-SD card feature, and other under-the-hood improvements. It’s a 500 MB+ update that’s reportedly been rolling out since Monday, so you should be receiving a notification on your S III before the week is over. As always, you can always do a manual check in the Settings » About phone » Software updates menu if you’re impatient, though in most cases that won’t be of any help.
