The Sprint variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is now receiving a small OTA update, fixing issues with the sleep mode. This update is known as MK2 internally and will bring no other major changes to the table. With the sleep mode issues rectified, users will also be able to see a substantially improved battery life. The Sprint Galaxy S4 was one of the first of the carrier variants in the U.S. to get the Android 4.3 update, so the sleep mode glitch could have well made its way with that update.
But users will be relieved that the bug has been fixed and put to rest once and for all. This is a rather small OTA update, so it shouldn’t take long for you to get it on your Sprint branded Galaxy S4. However, if you’re impatient to get the update and fix the sleep mode issue, checking for an update manually might help. Luckily, Sprint has been rolling out this update since Saturday, so your smartphone should have the update by today in all likelihood.
