The Moto G might be very close to being considered a low end smartphone, but that doesn’t mean the smartphone will be written off from any updates, well not in the current streak that Motorola is in. After updating the Moto X to Android 4.4 almost immediately after Google announced the update, the American manufacturer has now announced an update for the camera app on the Moto G which brings improvements and some much needed features to the table.
Even though the sensor is only 5MP in size, the Moto G has quite a few features under its belt to make it an attractive offering for the price that it’s being offered. Among the features included with this new update is the ability to focus and lock exposure by simply dragging the rectangular box on the area of your choice to focus more in that region, thus replacing the original touch to focus option. This feature is very beneficial for lovers of Macro photos as the exposure and focus is locked in the portion of your choice. The camera is also able to lock the exposure while taking panorama shots now, which was a much needed feature on the stock camera. All these changes have or will make their way to the Moto X with the Android 4.4 update while the Moto G smartphones are getting it first, which is slightly odd.
