UK HTC One Receiving Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5

htc one3

Just a few short weeks after its American cousins got updated to Android 4.3, the UK version of the HTC One is getting 4.3 as well. And Sense 5.5 is also included, unlike on the US models.

Today, over Twitter, HTC UK has announced that the One can now get 4.3 and Sense 5.5. They didn’t say what carriers, but since all the devices are unlocked anyway, it shouldn’t matter.

The specific update build number is 3.62.401.1, for those inclined. In addition to Android 4.3, you get the new Sense improvements, which are new features in BlinkFeed, new video highlights, and an updated Gallery app. You also can now turn off BlinkFeed entirely, if you want to.

As for Android 4.4 KitKat, HTC has said that, in the US at least, all carrier versions should receive KitKat within 90 days, the unlocked and developer editions should get 4.4 within 30 days, and the Google Play Edition in 15 days. Since it is 90 days for the carrier versions of the HTC One, the rest of the world should get the update quickly.

So if you live in the UK, go ahead and enjoy your new Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5 improvements.
