Sony’s official PlayStation app hits the Google Play Store

Sony’s PlayStation 4 gaming console officially hits markets in a few days from now, and its companion mobile apps for Android and iOS are already available for download. It was reported a few days ago that the app will be launched in mid-November, but it seems like Sony has posted the app ahead of schedule.

The free app will bring deep support with the PlayStation 4 console as it can mirror content on your mobile device on the go and use your mobile as a second display for your ongoing game. Save game data gets stored on the cloud, so users don’t have to worry about game progress.

Unfortunately, the PlayStation app on Android is not compatible with a lot of smartphones at this point. So for the time being, it seems like the app can only be accessed by Sony smartphones such as the Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and others. But we’re sure Sony will want to include other devices in the future as limiting the app’s reach will not do a lot of good for the company. Head over to the link below to check if your Android handset is compatible with the app.
