Sony “Privilege Movies” App Launches In Select Regions

Sony previously launched a promo that allowed owners of the Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra or Xperia Tablet Z to download 6 movies for free, 60-day trial for Music Unlimited, and 10 free PlayStation Mobile games. At that time this was promo was only available in the United Kingdom, Australia, Spain, Germany, France and Italy. The company has recently expanded its availability to other regions.

Sony has now expanded the availability of the promo to include Brazil, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand and United Arab Emirates. Owners of the Xperia models listed will be able to choose 6 movies to download from a list of 10. The titles include 2012, Battle: Los Angeles, Django Unchained, Elysium, Men in Black 3, Premium Rush, Terminator 4, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Karate Kid and Total Recall.

The redemption process is slightly different since owners will now need to download a separate app called Privilege Movies within the Xperia Privilege app. Once installed in any of the participating Xperia devices and if the consumer is a resident of any of the mentioned countries then they will be able to use the app to download and watch the movies. The movies can be re-downloaded an unlimited number of times which is great for those who are saving on storage space. The movie credits may be redeemed until March 31, 2014.

As soon as you run it, it will ask you to accept TOS, do it and proceed further.

If you see a black screen only like with no promotional offers listed, then it must be because it has no offers in your country.
