Samsung launches Galaxy Trend Lite for $170

Galaxy Trend Lite

Samsung currently has a lot of smartphones in the market today and the company has always believed in diversity of its products. With that spirit, the company has now announced yet another Galaxy handset called the Galaxy Trend Lite. If you’re still wondering, yes this is a low end smartphone with nothing in it for the power users. The Galaxy Trend is a known smartphone, so the Lite version is an even cheaper variant of the same. However, this will certainly make a big impact in emerging markets where low end smartphones sell pretty well.

As for the specs of the smartphone, the Galaxy Trend Lite packs a 4 inch 480×800 resolution display, 512MB of RAM, a 3.15MP camera, a 1 GHz processor, a microSD card slot and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The smartphone is really not that much of a looker either really as the design has been bothered from the rest of the 2013 Galaxy smartphones. While there’s certainly a market for smartphones like these, we dearly hope Samsung tries to differentiate each device based on its merits rather than using a standard design all across the board. The source claims that the smartphone could cost close to $170 or NT$4990.
