Galaxy S4 owners waited a considerable while for the Android 4.3 update, only to later find that bugs and other issues caused Samsung to pull the update soon after it began rolling out, sending things back to square one and kicking off another wait for users. Well, that wait is finally coming to an end today, as Samsung has resumed rollout of the Android 4.3 update for its 5-inch flagship globally.
The update is showing up in a few European nations, following the update’s rollout to the AT&T variant in the US yesterday. As a refresher, the update includes KNOX support, faster file system performance and smoother graphics, new camera modes, visual touches to the interface, and other improvements and features, most important of which is support for the Galaxy Gear.
The build number is I9505XXUEMKE (for the international variant) while the build date is of November 27th, and it is showing up both over-the-air and on Samsung’s PC suite software Kies. As always, it will be a few days before the rollout reaches all devices, though you can always force a manual check from the Settings » About phone » Software updates menu if it makes you feel good.
