The Recon Jet was announced earlier this year as a Google Glass competitor with a relatively cheaper price. While the device was slated to start shipping later this year, the company indefinitely postponed the launch of the Recon Jet. Today, we have more clarification on this delay and it’s really not good news. According to the makers, the Recon Jet will now start shipping from Spring next year. That’s quite a bit of waiting, especially for early adopters.
Co-founder and CEO of Recon, Dan Eisenhardt had this to say – “I know this delay is a disappointment for you. It certainly is for the Recon team and, of course, for me personally. The entire team and I are committed to delivering nothing short of a world-class product. By shifting the first-ship date forward, we can execute the necessary re-design, polish Jet’s functionality and deliver the product at the standard we all expect. Your investment demands nothing less.”
The Recon Jet can still be pre-ordered from its website for $599 with a 2014 Spring time shipping date.
