One of the main features of this device is that it uses a Mirasol display which consumes a low amount of power. This makes the battery life of the device last longer compared to other smartwatches in the market today. The company describes this as “technology uses the natural light around it, unlike traditional LCD displays which are backlit, to allow the Qualcomm Toq smartwatch display to become more visible in bright sunlight and to last for multiple days on a single wireless charge.”

Mirasol displays are similar to e-ink displays in a sense that they both have slow refresh rates and don’t suck power when left on.

Despite being an always on device (there’s no power button) battery life can still reach up to 2 days which is already impressive since it uses a full color touchscreen display. When the device needs charging it can do so wirelessly using the included WiPower LE wireless charger.

As far as compatibility goes the Toq will easily pair up with a device running on Android 4.03 Jelly Bran and above. You won’t need to constantly check your smartphone since notifications will be sent straight to the smartwatch.
