LG Nexus 4 no longer sold through Google Play

Nexus 4

The LG Nexus 4 has finally reached end of life status as it has gone out of the Google Play Store with the arrival of the Nexus 5 yesterday. This finally marks the end of one of the most successful Nexus smartphones made by Google in partnership with LG. However, this doesn’t rule out availability through third party retailers around the U.S. and other markets of the world. This is the case with the 2012 Nexus 7 which has gone out of rotation from the Play Store but is still being sold through third party retail channels.

The Nexus 4 is also being sold in some select outlets around the world. But that will only be until stocks last, beyond which the smartphone will be officially extinct from the market. It’s a little disappointing to have a smartphone like the Nexus 4 going out of rotation this early.¬†However, with the arrival of the Nexus 5, this move was along expected lines.¬†The only devices selling in the Play Store now are the Nexus 10, Nexus 7 (2013) and the newly announced Nexus 5. Some rumors in the past have suggested that the Nexus 4 will continue selling despite the launch of the Nexus 5, but those reports don’t hold any weight anymore.
